The ReactaVisc provides a window into evolving molecular interactions in the fluid, as the reaction happens, and is a versatile tool for both the laboratory and production settings.

The design is unique to Hydramotion, there is nothing else like it. Users deploy ReactaViscs in a wide range of applications from pharmaceutical laboratory trials to industrial R&D to drug production. Anywhere there is a need to measure a live reaction. And because the narrow head takes up minimal space at the top of the reaction vessel, it leaves plenty of room for other equipment such as stirrers or condensers.

The compact sensor probe is fitted to the vessel using a purpose-made HydraGland™ Adaptor. This unique fitting is supplied with all ReactaViscs and allows sensor positioning whilst maintaining seal integrity. HydraGlands are available for all vessel port types in a choice of sizes and materials – PTFE and SS316 as standard.

The pairing of ReactaVisc and HydraGland™ Adaptor provides a practical and versatile solution to limitless vessel and port combinations. It is the perfect partner for laboratory, scale up or batch productions.

Why is XL7-d16 good for Polymers?

The XL7-d16 spike sensor has been developed to be the ultimate tool for managing polymer melt, right where its needed most. In the pipe.

 

The d16 has been completely redesigned to operate at a lower shear-rate than our standard XL7 viscometer, which results in an optimum response to changing molecular weight within the polymer.

 

By having no bob, the spike design is naturally streamlined. This means the melt can flow easily and uniformly over its surface and also the viscometer can easily be extracted without damage if the polymer hardens in the pipe. The flange includes two jacking bolt threaded holes, so the sensor can be extracted with ease. For further simplicity of use, the d16 has been designed to retro-fit existing polymer melt equipment without the need to change pipework.

 

The d16 also has all the attributes found in every Hydramotion viscometer: high accuracy, no moving parts, negligible maintenance, and a robust construction to withstand harsh duty and high pressure. The all-welded solid sensor rod also has an open construction to ensure no trap areas or dead-zones for polymer melt.
